Private Session: Mold-making

Learn how to build a two-part plaster mold that can be used to produce replicas of real-life objects. You can bring a unique object of your own to cast. We ask that your object be 15cm maximum in any direction, or maximum 30cm in cross-section diagonal. The object also must be free of any undercuts. (More technical details can be found in your confirmation email). This is a process-oriented workshop. At the end of the workshop, you will have a plaster mold to continue your own slip-casting process.

Private Session: Slip-casting

Replicate ceramics with slip (liquid clay) using one of the molds at the studio or by bringing your own. Theory and techniques of slip casting are introduced, followed by slip mixing, pouring and de-molding. An understanding of the mold-making process is helpful.
