Resident Artist Program

Information & Application

Our Resident Artist Program supports artists & designers already working professionally in the ceramic medium for several years. The program encourages experimentation in one’s own studio practice while exchanging knowledge with our community. Residents are expected to host a workshop, present a lecture, and exhibit a body of final works. An immersion into Berlin’s creative network also occurs simultaneously.

The program is for one Resident Artist at a time. Access to our shared ceramic studio is between 8:00 - 22:00, together with other Artists working in our facilities. All studio materials & shared equipment are included in the residency free of cost. Available for your personal work are 5 studio shelves and 1 small work table. Shared firing costs are calculated by weight at a reduced fee of 30% off our Studio rate, or at a 10% off whole kiln bookings.

Knowledge-exchange during your residency is expected in the form of mentorship, providing technical advice to other artists in at least 3 ceramic techniques, as well as facilitating dialogue & educational exchange. An exhibition of works is expected in the form of a window exhibition, accompanied by an artist talk. For Residents who stay longer than 3 months, we also require a hands on technical workshop including an educational presentation.
